“The Interpretations Exhibitions are a biannual event, conceived by Vert
Design’s Andrew Simpson, which celebrate the adaptability and currency of
Industrial Design. Andrew saw the potential for a series of exhibitions
which challenged participating industrial designers to explore a
designated material or process. It is intended that Interpretations will
continue to be a biannual event, providing a valuable collation of
Industrial Design interpretations, ripe for reflection in the years to
come.Interpretations II is an inspiring symposium of designs utilising one of
the most underated and basic of industrial materials, Sheet Metal.
Interpretations II showcases the incredible potential of sheet metal with
designers etching, forming, oxidising, rivetting, welding, laser cutting,
and folding diverse projects ranging from larger scale furniture projects
through to minute mathematical polyhedra. With 6 designers taking part in Interpretations II, each designer brings
their own wealth of experience and specialties to the exhibition to
represent the diverse potential of sheet metal and design.”
